Braised Chap is the satirical typeface Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal (1729) should have been set in. Its forms are sourced from various specimen sheets of the Caslon foundry. Its optical awkwardness is the result of flipping selected letterforms, thereby imitating sarcasm's tendency to flip the meaning of a phrase.
It has been nominated as the world's most beautiful typeface.
